NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – CPS Wood Products – locally known and operating as Canada Pallet Corp. – has made a remarkable gift of $100,000 in support of Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation’s Exceptional Community, Exceptional Care campaign. Having supported NHH since 2002, this Cobourg-based business has long seen value in having a well-equipped hospital close to home, and their latest donation represents CPS’ largest single gift in support of the hospital to date.

“By helping our hospital purchase newer and better equipment, we can help keep our Northumberland-area patients local more often and hopefully reduce costs to families dealing with health issues,” shares Shawn Hicks, CEO of CPS Wood Products, when asked about the value he sees in having high-quality healthcare close to home for his team and the broader community. “We understand the role new technology plays in any business and hope new equipment in our hospital will improve care and help people get treated in less time, close to home.”

An industry leader, CPS has a team of 165 employees who work hard every day to provide great products and service to customers in North America. The support of their local hospital is just one way they have demonstrated their focus on being a responsible corporate citizen.

“The investment in our local hospital by CPS shows this is a company with leaders who understand the importance of having good healthcare in our community for the well-being of their team members and families,” shares Hank Vandermeer, Exceptional Community, Exceptional Care Campaign Chair. “We are very grateful to have their support.”

“CPS has long supported our hospital, and this latest and largest gift demonstrates their understanding of the significant investment required to help our hospital continue to care for our aging and growing population,” says Rhonda Cunningham, CEO of NHH Foundation. “We are thankful to have caring businesses like CPS operating in our community and supporting exceptional healthcare, close to home.”
